Harden Healthcare LLP's subsidiary Missouri Home Care has acquired Missouri-based American HomeCare, an in-home medical service company. The deal closed Sept. 28, and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

American HomeCare has 13 Missouri locations, and Harden CFO Steve Wood says this acquisition will make Harden the largest Medicaid waiver services provider in Missouri. American HomeCare's CEO, Deborah Campbell, will not remain with the company. Wood says there will be no layoffs. In June, Harden acquired Chicago's Auxi Health Inc., adding 2,000 employees to its base. Harden now employs about 5,000 people nationwide.

Austin-based Harden Healthcare was founded in Austin in 2001 to provide short and long-term health care. The company is made up of five subsidiaries including TRISUN Healthcare, MBS Rehab, MBS Pharmacy, Lighthouse Hospice and Auxi Health.
